Highly qualified, caring staff providing individual care and attention
We
follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework which has six inter-dependent
areas of learning:
These are divided into development matters that show the knowledge, skills,
understanding and attitudes that children learn during the foundation stage.
These set out the steps most children go through from birth until the end
of this stage.
We provide planned and purposeful activities to help children make progress in their development and learning.
Our key aim is to make Sturminster Marshall Pre-School a happy place to be, where your child can feel secure, develop confidence, enjoy and achieve.
We value each child’s individuality, building on what they can do, encouraging a love of learning and laying down a secure foundation for the future.
We aim to make our setting welcoming to parents and carers so we can work together and regularly exchange information about every child’s progress and achievements.
Sturminster Marshall Pre-School is open daily throughout the school term.
Sessions are Monday to Friday from 8.50 am to 11.50 am and an afternoon session which runs from 1.05pm to 3.35pm on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
Our popular lunch club follows on from the morning session, subject to demand, finishing at 1.05 pm. Packed lunches are provided by parents. During the autumn term, we can also collect Reception children from the First School when they finish at midday.
The Friday session is for children starting school the following September. During this session children are introduced to the next step in their education, including PE in the School Hall. We liaise closely with School to make the transition as easy as possible including spending time with the class teacher.
Up to the term after your child is 3 years old/unfunded is £10.50 per 3 hours session.
From 3 years—children receive funding the term after their 3rd birthday.
The Nursery Education Grant is currently five 2 ½ hour sessions per week.
We charge a fee of £1.75 per child per session for the extra ½ an
hour provided.
Lunch club—£3.50 per day if booked and paid for half termly in advance,
otherwise £3.70 on an adhoc basis
All fees are payable in advance.
